Shift to Virtual Wards
There has been a shift in nursing and care since the recent Covid-19 pandemic which has seen an increase in virtual wards.
This is where a patient is sent home (either to their own home, or a place they would call home such as a residential care facility or an assisted living apartment) and nurses/care-givers would be sent out to visit the patient.
Studies on the NHS “Hospital at Home” pilot scheme* found that 99% of the people preferred or recommended the “virtual ward” in comparison to being admitted to hospital as they valued a more comfortable, homely environment. Being in a familiar environment also reduces the chance of delirium and confusion for some patients which can also lead to less falls and further injury.

How Langzhi Products can help:
Alongside the push for virtual wards, there will be a requirement for supporting technology to provide cost effective remote health monitoring at home.
The Langzhi digital care range of products will offer peace of mind to patients that they will still be monitored at home.
With the vital signs tracking and out-of-bed status monitoring, service users who utilise the Langzhi products can be rest assured that although they are at home, they will not be left alone with their care.
